Where do you find balloons, banter and a whole lot of celebration? At The Regions’ grand opening of our Ashburton Office, that’s where! And, that is certainly what our team enjoyed when the doors to our new Canterbury office opened on Friday 29 November.
We have been supporting the South Island farming community since The Regions was founded in 2017, but the time had come to have a more permanent presence. The Central South Island’s growing rural community, and Canterbury’s significant dairy economy, means there is an ever-increasing demand for farmworkers in the south. Our new Ashburton office will help us to continue to provide this much-needed support and recruitment to the region.
Local VIPs in attendance
As well as our wonderful Canterbury team, the grand opening saw The Regions founders, Ben and Patricia De’Ath fly down for the official ribbon cutting ceremony, with Key Account Managers, Julie and Michelle, and Business Support, Sonja. In attendance was the honorable Neil Brown, Mayor of Ashburton and fellow council members.
“It was great to have local politicians welcome us to the community and acknowledge the importance of the recruitment and support services we provide,” says The Regions managing director, Ben D’Ath. “The farmworkers and their families who we help recruit onto New Zealand farms are looking for opportunity, stability and a community where they can achieve betterment. They’re certainly able to find that here in the South!”
With the doors to The Regions new Ashburton office now open, the local community has welcomed our presence. “Everyone has been very appreciative of the services we provide to the South Island region and expressed the need for more! The team have already had some great conversations and created good connections within the dairy industry,” says Ben.
